****Amendments to the Stable Token Act were passed on March 18, 2024, which allow the Commission to meet its procurement needs through a competitive bidding process. These amendments are effective immediately.
The Stable Token Commission’s one-time budget request of $5.8M was approved as part of the biennial budget bill, which was passed on March 23, 2024. Funds became available to the agency on July 1, 2024.
The Commission approved draft Procurement Rules at its meeting on June 27, 2024, which were then promulgated under Emergency Rulemaking on July 17, 2024. These were in effect until November 14, 2024 and enabled the Commission to begin anticipated vendor prequalification and request for proposal processes in the following months.
A second (and final) set of Procurement Rules were promulgated under Emergency Rulemaking on November 20, 2024. These are in effect until March 20, 2022.
